PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI PENDIDIKAN KEARIFAN LOKAL TENUN DI KECAMATAN SIRIMAU KOTA AMBON

Abstrak

Empowering communities through education of local wisdom, particularly in the development of ikat weaving, is an effort to integrate traditional culture with advances in science and technology (S&T) to improve the quality of life for the community. This program focuses on the community of Sirimau District, Ambon City, which is rich in the cultural heritage of ikat weaving as part of local wisdom. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance weaving skills, introduce new technologies in the production process, and expand market access for local woven products. Through training that incorporates modern technology, artisans are empowered to produce higher-quality woven products with better competitiveness. In addition, entrepreneurship and digital marketing training are also provided to assist artisans in marketing their products to a wider market, both locally and internationally. The results of this program demonstrate a significant improvement in weaving skills, an increase in artisans' economic income, and the formation of a creative community that shares knowledge and experiences. This program has also successfully raised public awareness of the importance of preserving local wisdom, while creating a positive economic impact on the local community. Empowerment through education of local wisdom in ikat weaving is expected to serve as a model for the development of other traditional cultures in Indonesia.
