Abstrak

The project-based learning module focusing on traditional food is a result of previous research, which has been proven to enhance the abilities of early childhood learners. However, in its implementation at KB Mata Air, the project method has so far only been applied to limited activities such as juice making or planting. In fact, there are many other meaningful activities suitable for early childhood education that can be explored through this method, including preparing traditional foods that are relevant to children's daily lives. Therefore, the team conducted a community service program (PkM) held on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 29–30, 2025, from 11:00 WIT until completion. This activity aimed to: (1) improve the capacity of PAUD (Early Childhood Education) teachers in implementing the project-based learning module, and (2) encourage the development of learning based on local wisdom. During the implementation, the team presented the module and the principles of the project method, followed by discussions between the teachers and the team regarding the module and its application. Teachers had the opportunity to ask questions related to the module and its implementation, which was then followed by a simulation. The next stage involved the practical application of the module in KB Mata Air's learning environment for early childhood students. This implementation was carried out by the teachers under the guidance of the PkM team. Teachers followed the steps outlined in the traditional food-based project learning module, starting from introducing the tools and ingredients used in making papeda (a traditional dish) to the evaluation phase.
