Violence in school settings remains a critical issue that undermines students’ psychological development and academic achievement. School principals play a strategic role as key decision-makers and cultural leaders in implementing effective prevention and intervention measures. This Community Service Program (PkM) was designed to enhance the capacity of junior high school principals in preventing, managing, and responding to incidents of school violence through a technical training program grounded in Psychological First Aid (PFA). The implementation comprised four stages: (1) initial identification with principals and guidance and counseling teachers to map the prevalent forms of violence; (2) delivery of instructional content on the principal’s leadership role and core concepts of PFA; (3) case-based discussions and simulations; and (4) post-training evaluation using pre-tests, post-tests, and the formulation of action plans. Results indicate a substantial improvement in participants’ understanding of violence-related concepts, early response mechanisms, and the practical application of the Look–Listen–Link framework within PFA. The principals also developed comprehensive follow-up plans, including the establishment of school violence response teams, the development of PFA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), enhancement of child-friendly reporting systems, mapping of high-risk areas, advanced PFA training sessions, anti-violence campaigns, and sustained monitoring mechanisms. Overall, the program effectively strengthened principals’ readiness to foster safe and responsive school environments and contributed to reinforcing student protection systems in Ambon City.
