Abstrak

Wangel Village, especially in Marbali Hamlet, the fisheries sector plays an important role in the local economy. Most of the people depend on marine products for their living, either through fishing or the use of other marine products. This research aims to analyze the use of marine resources in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector in Marbali Hamlet, Wangel Village, Aru Islands Regency, with a focus on processing fish into fish chips products. As a coastal area with abundant marine potential, Marbali Hamlet has a great opportunity to develop fisheries-based MSMEs, especially in producing value-added processed products. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, through in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation. The research results show that processing fish into chips has made a significant contribution to the local economy, created jobs and increased the income of local communities. However, there are several challenges faced, such as technological limitations, access to capital, and product marketing. Apart from that, problems with product quality and  consistency  are  also  obstacles  in  business  development.  This  research  suggests  the  need  to increase access to processing technology, easier financing, and strengthen marketing networks to expand the market for fish chip products. With the right support, the marine-based MSME sector in Marbali Hamlet can develop more optimally, improve community welfare and support local economic resilience.
